TRAINING FOR A “CONTROLLED SHOT”

FEATURING STEVEN FROM ELEVATION FITNESS TRAINING

In this episode of Wild Skills Steven Dahn of Elevation Fitness Training demonstrates the importance of making a “controlled shot” while training under stress for archery season. He goes through the steps of how to elevate your heart rate in a functional manner in order to replicate different scenarios in the backcountry. Steven also gives alternatives to the items he uses in this episode to allow you to be able to train in a similar manner even if you don’t have the same equipment.

“Having the ability to practice how we play is huge! We encounter many obstacles in different hunting scenarios and it’s pivotal to explore these possibilities in a controlled environment before having to figure them out when the hunt is on. It’s one thing to be a great archer, it’s another to be able to put all the pieces together when your exhausted, hungry, beat up, and your heart rate is redlined!”

Follow along as Steven takes you through one of his training sessions he and his clients regularly endure.
