This one is a no-brainer, and I don’t think that any of you getting this email need much convincing here.

Replace the soda with something better.

A lot of you have already quit drinking soda, I’m sure. But what did you replace it with? Energy drinks, Gatorade, gas station fruit juices that come with a hippy-dippy label so they feel really good for you.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had someone (even our employees!) tell me that what they are drinking is “good for them!”… Only to read the label and find out it’s packed with just as much sugar as soda!

You just don’t need it! For the most part, it’s an impulse buy at a gas station or grocery store, and it’s adding hundreds of calories of sugar to your diet, with absolutely no benefit.

And before you tell me that you’re drinking the sugar-free version, just stop. You know better. You know there is nothing beneficial or remotely healthy in that can!

Just cut it out.

But what do you replace the soda with?

  1. Water – Just good old water! If you crave carbonation, get on the bandwagon and try a Le Croix or Bubly. We don’t recommend them all the time, but they can hit the spot when those soda cravings come calling.
  2. Fruit/veggie infused water – if it’s flavor you’re looking for, try adding a little fruit or even cucumber to a pitcher of water. The added sugar is minimal and if water bores you, this is a good option.
  3. Obviously we recommend mixing up an ice cold Superman (Hydrate & Recover mixed with Energy & Focus) in place of a sugar-filled soda. Any WA die-hard can tell you that nothing beats a Superman!
